Although our primary goal is to have managers of healthcare facilities, we recognize that having vendors as members also benefits the association. Therefore, we offer two types of memberships:
Memberships for Healthcare Facility Managers Regular MembershipThe regular membership of the Association shall consist of persons who are actively engaged as a person directly in charge of the Maintenance (and/or) Engineering Department of a health care facility, or his or her Assistants. Contracted health care professionals meeting the requirements stated herein and are approved by the Executive Committee and voted into membership at a regular meeting shall be considered regular members. The Association shall continue regular membership to those members laid-off due to reductions for one year, if the individual makes such request to the Association. Honorary Membership Any member in good standing for three (3) years who leave the health care field would qualify for Honorary Membership, if he so applies. However, any member who had served as an officer for a period of one or more years would also qualify for Honorary Membership. Any qualified person can obtain Honorary Membership by action of the Executive Committee initiated by a request to any member of the Executive Committee. Honorary members will have voting rights, but may not run for office. Special Membership A Special Membership may be granted to a person who was a representative for any company in good standing that has been an Associate or Social Membership in this Association. This person had to have been an Active Member (Active meaning he or she must have attended a minimum of twenty-five (25) meetings in the last five (5) years and have had served on some committees.) Special Memberships can not vote or hold office but may serve on committees. This membership can be made only with approval of the Executive Committee. An Active Member must have attended a minimum of fifteen (15) meetings in the last five (5) years before retirement. A retired member is one who is no longer fully employed by himself or herself, or anyone else.
